This Site Specific Art Action took place at 6 august 2008. In the program of the Tate Modern about Street Art I only saw streeart outside the Tate Modern and an Walking Tour. On the website you can find the info: In the first commission to use the building's iconic river facade, and the first major public museum display of street art in London, Tate Modern presents the work of six internationally acclaimed artists whose work is intricately linked to the urban environment: Blu from Bologna, Italy; the artist collective Faile from New York, USA; JR from Paris, France; Nunca and Os Gemeos, both from Sao Paulo, Brazil and Sixeart from Barcelona, Spain. You can also take the Street Art Walking Tour: an urban tour of site-specific art from a group of five Madrid-based street artists: 3TTMan, Spok, Nano 4814, El Tono and Nuria Ð a map is available online and in the gallery. Street Art curated by Cedar Lewisohn, produced by Kathy Noble.
Isn't Street Art illegal ? Does Street Art belong in an museum ? Yes of course. If so, it ought to be inside the museum also. But I didn't see any piece of Street Art inside theTate Modern. Even not in the entrance, it was totally empty ! Just the best place, to present an big piece. So I made one. And put it over there.
