Action Activation is een totaal belevenis. Niets is wat het lijkt en alles is omgekeerd. Met dit in het achthoofd is er een performance, een installatie, een beeld, een site specific art action en een show gemaakt. waarschijnlijk komt er nog meer. Een soort van interventie. Nog niet te verklappen waar, wanneer en hoe.
Niets is wat het lijkt, alles is omgekeerd
Steeds meer wordt duidelijk dat het systeem faalt en corrupt is. Op verschillende manieren kan je er tegen aan kijken. De enige oplossing is je eigen leven te leiden en er zelf wat van te maken. Want wat het het voor zin, energie in iets te steken, dat je zelfs niet kan veranderen.
Ze kunnen wel van alles willen
Als “ze” je graag voor hun karretje willen spannen, zeggen ze dat “het” een probleem is. Angst, terreur en chaos is het gevolg. Daarna komen ze met de oplossing. En dat is meteen waar het netje zich aanspant of de buikriem steeds iets verder aangetrokken wordt. De overheid moet dat regelen. Meer politie, meer ambtenaren, meer rechter, harder optreden. En nog meer mensen om dit probleem in de kiem te smoren, voor dat het nog verder uit de hand loopt.
Meer controle en macht?
Meer controle en macht naar het systeem en de overheid, is dan de gekozen weg. Dat het door jou komt. Dan kom je terecht in het schuld en boete verhaal. Waar hebben we dat meer gehoord? De religie? Een psyops. Tactieken die bedoeld zijn om tegenstanders of vijanden te manipuleren, zoals het verspreiden van propaganda of het gebruik van psychologische oorlogsvoering.

Si Paton and Robert Nettleship a duo of drums and bass guitar specialising in free improvisation. A cross collaboration project between Birmingham and The Hague, their performances exist in that musical sweet-spot where avant-jazz, noise rock and contemporary composition align. Taking reference from the powerhouse rhythm sections of Weasel Walter & Tim Dahl or Lightning Bolt and the frantic interplay of groups like Hella, their shows are brash, unpredictable and relentless. Both have had respected careers as composer-improvisers (Nettleship with the solo album ‘Embodied’ and Paton for his work with prog-jazz group Selectric) and this collaboration has taken their explorations into bright and intense sonic ground.
