We zijn open is de titel van een schilderij in de etalage. Daaromheen en daarnaast is nog meer te zien. In feite wordt de hele etalage gebruikt en is deze ingericht voor de expositie Ride to Art. Een positief geluid in de corona tijd.
Ride to art kwam met de corona opdracht….
Kenmerken voor het werk: positief, medeleven, corona proof en kleurrijk, Op A1 formaat, 60 x 80 cm, 2 dimensionaal. In de etalage bij een ondernemer uit de buurt. Een uitdaging dus… Want ik wil meer dan alleen een werkje laten zien in een etalage.
Opening op zondag en daarna gewoon open
De opening is op zondag 26 juli “Ride to Art” om 16.00 uur buiten, bij de etalage (bij mooi weer) en anders in de Buikdanswinkel. Natuurlijk zijn er ook schilderijen te zien, Eikenweg 66, 1092 CB Amsterdam. maar de hele maand tot 1 september is het nog te bezichtigen.
Corona drukte dus met speciale maatregelen
In verband met de corona, hebben we speciale maatregelen genomen. Als het regent komt er buiten een luifel. En er zijn dus maar een aantal bezoekers binnen mogelijk. Maar je kan ook altijd, op afspraak, geheel vrijblijvend, een keer komen kijken naar de schilderijen of naar de buikdans kleding. Bekijk ook de Bellydance Art Experience reeks.

Ride to Art in East
I was invited to make a piece for a project “Ride to Art in East”. Most of the times it is an easy proces. Come up with an idea and make it. Just do it. Then I’ll see. Does it work? How do people react? This time it was more difficult. A challenge. Positive, caring, uplifting, colorful, the size, and the shop owner has also a point of view. Because it is in his window.
Too easy just to make something…
To be positive in such a difficult time as the corona crisis. Everybody is scared, sick, nobody buys anything. Just for fun, it is just surviving. It is gonna be a difficult time for shop owners and artists too. Yes I can draw or paint an adorable pussycat or dog. Or two hands helping each other. Or something with closet rolls or paper But it ain’t feels good.… It is not me…
I Have to come up with a better idea…
I have to come up with something different, challenging, awkward stuff, provoking, layered. I could have expose an abstract or figurative painting. But .. too easy. I had to challenge myself to make something better. I decided to made the first impression of thoughts in my mind as a sign. But with something more to see, so that the shop could have also more visitors. We zijn open. It is about gratitude. Visitors are still able to visit the store. But there is also more to see than just the image on the website. So you still have to visit the place, to get rewarded. To see the whole picture you have to go on your bike to visit the store.
